Penggunaan Metode Index Card Match Dengan Media Kartu Gambar dalam Peningkatan Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris pada Siswa Kelas V SD Negeri Pesalakan

The objectives of this research were:(]) to describe the steps of using Index Card Match method by Flash Card Media in improving English learning at the fifth grade students of SDN Pesalakan in the academic year of 2013/2014;(2) to improve the English learning through using Index Card Match method by Flash Card media in improving English learning at the fifth grade students of SDN Pesalakan in the academic year of 2013/2014; and (3) to describe about the problems and solutions of using Index Card Match method by Flash Card media in improving English learning at thefifth grade students of SDN Pesalakan in the academic year of 2013/2014.
This research used Collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR), the experiment was conducted in three cycles,each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation,  and reflection.  The subjects  of  this research were 21 students  in fifth  grade  at  SDN Pesalakan.  The source  data  of  this research  were students, teachers, coleages, researcher, and documents. The technique of collecting data were test, observation, interview, and documentation. Validity data used triangulation source and triangulation technique. Analysis of data in this research used qualitative and quantitative analysis. The analysis of data consists of data reduction, data presentation  and conclusion. Procedure of this research consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.
The results of this research indicate that:(]) steps of using Index Card Match method by Flash Card Media consisted of eleven steps: the teacher conditioning the students activity, giving lesson, preparing question card and answer card, mixed question card and answer card, devided the cards, the students lookingfor the pairs of card, the students sitting with their pairs, each pair read the questions and the answers, the teacher give the conclucion, feedback and evaluation; (2) the use of Index Card Match method by Flash Card Media can improve English learning; and (3) the problems of using Index Card Match method by Flash Card Media were:(a) uncontrolled formation of study groups, (b) reading Flash Card by students was not maximal, (c) students did not understand the rules of the game in lookedfor their pairs, and (d) the amount of students was odd. The solutions to solve the problems were: (a) the formation  of the group perfomed before the learning begins, (b) teacher guide the students when read the Flash Card, (c) teacher give guidance about the rules of game before the learning begins, and (d) teacher help the students in hold one of the Flash Card. The conclusions of this research is the use of Index Card Match method by
Flash Card media can improve English learning at the fifth  grade students of SDN Pesalakan in the academic year of 2013/2014.
