This research aims to find out the type of apology strategies and the way of expressing apologies, and to explain the reason of characters in expressing the apology strategy in “The Kissing Booth” movie. This research applies descriptive qualitative approach and the data are taken from the apologizing expression by the characters in “The Kissing Booth” movie. The researcher uses Olshtain & Cohen (1983) theory of apology for classifying the type of apology strategy belongs to the data. The result shows that 8 of 10 strategies and sub-strategies found in 47 apologizing utterances throughout the movie, those are an expression of regret, an offer of apology, a request for forgiveness, accepting the blame, expressing self- deficiency, an expression of account of the situation, an offer of repair, and a promise of forbearance. Moreover, the high frequently apology strategy used in this research is an expression of regret because most of the characters prefer to apologize directly in expressing their regret and guilty feelings.
