Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disorder characterized by low bone mass and deterioration of the microarchitecture of bone tissue, resulting in an increased tendency to fracture. Treatment of osteoporosis will require a very large cost and take a long time so that it becomes a prolonged suffering. There were still limited number of studies assessing CT scan in predicting fracture fragility in substitute to the T-score to determine osteoporosis.
This research is an analytic observational study with a cross sectional approach. The subjects of this study were patients who found compression fractures in the thoracolumbar region and underwent examinations at Dr Moewardi Hospital Surakarta and RSO Prof. Dr. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta with exclusion criteria Patients with a history of spinal surgery, Patients with TB. There are correlation between spinal density values on CT scan examination with VAS score, PDI score, and number of thoracolumbar compression fractures due to osteoporosis.
