The purpose of this study is to (1) explain the history and development of the Balaikirti Presidential Museum, (2) describing the role of the Balaikirti Presidential Museum as a learning medium and (3) its use as a medium of historical learning by teachers and students in SMA Negeri 3 Bogor.
The research was conducted at the Balaikirti Presidential Museum and SMA Negeri 3 Bogor. The approach used descriptive qualitative with a single embedded case study strategy. Data collection was carried out by observing various media used by the Balaikirti Presidential Museum in collecting historical values contained in the museum collections and their use as learning media in the history learning process at SMA Negeri 3 Bogor, interviews with key informants, namely the Head of the Balaikirti Presidential Museum and teachers history include students of SMA Negeri 3 Bogor, analysis of documents in the Balaikirti Presidential Museum and SMA Negeri 3 Bogor. Sampling used is snowball sampling. Validity data using the source triangulation method and triangulation method. The research data were analyzed using interactive analysis techniques.
The results found that (1) Balaikirti Presidential Museum was initiated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in 2012 and was inaugurated on November 10, 2014. History of museum was motivated by the desire to centralize presidential-themed museums in Indonesia which had been separated. In its development, this museum continues to improve itself into a modern museum that not only collects, converts and presents museum collections, but actively communicates museum collections through various media. (2) Balikirti presidential museum continues to evolve with the latest information and communication technology-based media, such as digitizing museum collections to virtual museum tours. So that these various media can be used as interesting historical learning media, (3) Balaikirti Presidential Museum used as a history learning medium in various history learning activities at SMA Negeri 3 Bogor through the use of virtual tour technology for the Balaikirti Presidential Museum. The teacher uses the technology in history learning activities in the classroom. In addition, students use it in Tricero's historical literacy extracurricular activities. Using virtual museum tours is proven to increase effectiveness and efficiency in history learning activities, because teachers and students don’t need to visit the museum directly. thus saving time and energy.
