This study discusses about the characterizations of Cats Misymisy, Bisbis and Monkey Maimun in the text of the Q?dhi Al-gh?bah fable by K?mil K?l?n? and its contribution of figures and characterizations Cats and Monkey to the personal development of children. The purpose of this study is to explain and describe the types of characters, the technique of perspectives of Cat and Monkey figures in Islamic religion and Egyptdian culture, and the contribution of the characters to the personal development of children.
The theory used in this research is Burhan Nurgiyantoro’s Structuralism and Children’s Literature Theory. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Qualitative descriptive methods are used to describe and anlyze data related to characters and characterizations of Cats and Monkey, and contribution to the personal development of children.
The result of research that have been done. Firs, there are two main figures in Q?dhi Al-gh?bah Cats and Monkey. Each character belongs to the type of protagonist and antagonist. A character who is classified as a type of protagonist is the the Misymisy Cat, while the characters classified as the antagonist are the Bisbis Cat and Maimun the Maimun Monkey. The technique for the presence of Cat and Monkey characters uses action techniques, words techniques, appearance technique, other people’s comment techniques, and author commentary techniques. Second, the contribution of characters and characterizations of Cats and Monkey to the child’s personal development like as emotional development, intellectual development, imagination development, growth of socdial sense, growth of ethical and religious sense.
