Motor competence is an important aspect that needs to be developed from an early age. Motor competence can be achieved through the provision of activities that children can do with people around them. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of Fundamental Motor Skill (FMS) interventions on improving children's motor competence. The population in this study was all children aged 5-6 years in Riyadhus Sholihin Kindergarten. A sample of 26 children was selected using a non-probability sampling technique with saturated sampling.

The study is a quantitative quasi-experimental design with one group before-after (pretest-posttest) design. Data collection techniques used are performance, observation, and documentation to measure the development of motoric competencies of children aged 5-6 years. Normality test using Kolmogorov-smirnov. Data analysis used parametric statistics after the data was declared normal with a significance value of p ? 0.05. Hypothesis test using samples t-test through SPSS 20 for windows.

The results of data analysis showed: first, a mean was increased during the pretest and posttest in the experimental group from 57,12 to 73,73 . Second, there was significant difference between the results of the pretest and posttest with a significance value of p ? 0.05 so that it triggers the influence of fundamental motor skill (FMS) intervention on the motor competence of children aged 5-6 years
