ABSTRACT 2008. The Activities and Functions of Public Relations Division in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. English Diploma Program, Faculty of Letters and Fine Arts, UNS. This final project entitled The Activities and Function of Public Relations Division in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta was based on the job training which lasted from March 3rd 2008 until April 2nd 2008 at RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta.This final project aims to describe and explain the activities of Public Relations division in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. The hospital is located on Jl. Kol Sutarto no.132, Surakarta. Public Relations is under and is responsible to vice director of General and finance and head of planning and medical report division (PRM/Perencanaan Rekam Medis) and it does its activities, either internally and externally. The practitioner of RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta had many activities, both internal and external ones. The activities were done in Public Relations Office, Information Center, and Telephone Operator room. In Public Relations Office, the Public Relations officer was responsible for both internal and external activities such as: typing an article, clipping the news, typing press release, and typing brochure. In Information Center, the practitioner was handling the activities to serve the public by providing some information about the registration place and patients’ location, and to put the patient’s data into computer. Meanwhile, in Telephone Operator she had duties to answer telephone, and provide services information. The writer gives some suggestion to the hospital to improve the work quality in doing the activities and have individual office in order to make the work of Public Relations officer focus in the Public Relations jobs.
