ABSTRACT 2007. The Activity of Public Relation Division in Communication and Information Bureau Karanganyar (KIK). English Diploma Program Faculty of Letter and Fine Arts, Sebelas Maret University, 2007. This final project is to understand the activity of Public Relation Division in Communication and Information Bureau of Karanganyar (KIK). The role of public relation division of KIK is to support the vision an mission of KIK. Public Relation Division of KIK has main roles as a source of formal information for the society in the regency of Karanganyar, as a medium between the government institution and the society and among the society themselves, and as a motivator for the growth of society dynamics in the regency of Karanganyar. Public Relation Division of KIK must have a good relationship with the media. There are several programs that have been performed by the public relation division in KIK to maintain a good cooperation with the media such as press tour, direct information spreading, and press conference. During her apprenticeship in the Public Relation Division of KIK, the writer also performing many tasks and duties and duties of Public Relation such as preparing press clipping, news coverage activity, press release, and press conference. The result of this report is that the role of Public Relation Division in KIK is very important to support the vision and mission of KIK. The main roles of Public Relation Division in KIK are as a source of information for the society in the regency of Karanganyar, as a medium between the government institution and the society and among the society themselves, and as a motivator for the growth of society dynamics in the regency of Karanganyar.
