Teaching vocabulary for 4th grade of elementary school in SDN Jonggrangan I Klaten

ABSTRACT 2008. This final project report is written based on the teaching experience during the job training in SDN Jonggrangan I Klaten. The major aims of this final project are to find out the method used and the difficulties faced in teaching English vocabulary. In teaching vocabulary for the 4th grade students of SDN Jonggrangan I Klaten, the writer used Eclectic Method. Bringing pictures, giving some songs, and games related to the topic discussed and repeating the new vocabulary were the ways the writer taught English vocabulary. The writer also gave exercises in order to know the students’ comprehension in learning the lesson. Students’ condition and social environment are the problems that arise in learning English. To solve the students’ condition, the writer used communicative approach. While in solving the school environment, the teacher used game. The writer found some difficulties in teaching the English lesson to the 4th grade students of SDN Jonggrangan I Klaten. To solve those difficulties, the writer has some solutions.
