This research analyzed two episodes of Late Show with Stephen Colbert with Joe Biden as a guest star. The objective is to explore the linguistic and non-linguistic strategies indicating power struggles in the Stephen Colbert Talk show with Joe Biden and to explain the stance constructed in the Stephen Colbert Talk show with Joe Biden based on the perspective of power relations. To achieve that, the author employed three levels of Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis for analyzing the power relation in the text. The results found that the host constructed power through the use of interrogative sentences, turn-taking control, forcing explicitness, interruption, evaluation, euphemism, and mime cue gestures. Meanwhile, Joe Biden as a political leader exercised power through pronoun “We”, overwording, Third Person Point of View, evaluation, modality, pronoun “I”, pronoun “you”, turn holding, steeple gesture, and clenched fist. Then, in the case of stance, this discourse indicates support for Biden through the power indicator shown by Stephen Colbert.
