Pengaruh Variasi Perbandingan Konsentrasi Kombinasi Ekstrak Etanolik Daun Kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) dan Lidah Buaya (Aloe vera L.) terhadap Sifat Fisik dan Kimia Masker Peel Off

The chemical content of flavonoid, saponin, tannin in basil leaf and aloe vera is thought to be able to inhibit bacterial growth, so that can be indicated to have antiseptic and antimicrobial effect. One of innovations using these natural ingredients is to make peel off mask because it is practical to use. This study aims to determine the effect of difference variation combination ethanolic extract of basil leaf and aloe vera as peel off mask. Extract were made using maceration method with 96% ethanol. Gel formulation were then made with variation of ratio concentration combination extract as active substance, the concentration of 0% as blank and 2% with ratio 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1. Physical and chemical tests were carried out on each formula including organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, drying time, dispersion, and adhesion during 4 weeks of storage. Data were analyzed using One Way Anova method. The result showed that variation ratio combination extract effected to the consistency, color, pH, drying time, dispersion, and adhesion of peel off mask formulation. The best formula is formula 1 with ratio combination extract 2% 1:1 wich is indicated by the results having reddish brown color, characteristic rose smell, thick consistency, pH value 6,14, drying time 26 minutes, spreading power 5,32 cm, and 32,40 seconds if stickiness.
