The research of “Queerbaiting as Depicted in Disney’s “LUCA”: A False Hope of Queerfolks Representation in Media? has been conducted to understand how media audiences perceive queer-coded environments within a given media. Specifically, this research aims to; 1) uncover whether the audiences interpret the scenes of excessive male x male interactions within the movie "LUCA" as queerbaiting and 2) to understand how the audiences perceive the scenes of excessive male x male interactions within the movie "LUCA". The data have been gathered through focus group discussion (FGD) and interview sessions with selected samples. The results show how; 1) there are no specific queerbaiting features within "LUCA," notably not the kind that is displayed by the Luca x Alberto pairing; 2) such finding is derived from how the respondents are unable to pinpoint the signs of queer and homoeroticism between the pairing of Luca x Alberto, and 3) such findings are reached because only 20% out of the total respondents are able to reach a favoring argumentation regarding the existence of queerbaiting within the movie “LUCA”
