AN ENGLISH TEXT BOOK FOR GRADE VII ENTITLED "WHEN ENGLISH RINGS A BELL"

The aim of this research is to: (1) analyze whether the scientific approach based on Curriculum 2013 has been applied in the seventh-grade of junior high school students’ English textbook "When English Rings A Bell" or not, and (2) investigate the representation of scientific approach based on 2013 curriculum in the seventh-grade of junior high school students’ English textbook "When English Rings A Bell". The research design of this research is descriptive qualitative content analysis . The research findings show that (1) The seventh-grade junior high school students’ English textbook "When English Rings A Bell" has applied the scientific approach with the compatibility of scientific approach is 87%. Based on the percentage classification, it is in the level “Very Good”. In detail, Chapter I 60% learning activities support the scientific approach, Chapter II 100% learning activities support the scientific approach and Chapter III 100% learning activities support the scientific approach and (2) A total of 29 observing activities are well represented; a total of 4 questioning activities are partially represented; 24 experimenting activities are well represented; 11 associating activities are well represented; and 10 communicating activities are partially represented.
