This final report is written based on internship program at Administration Division was carried out for two months from March 7 to April 28, 2022. This final report aims to describe the internship activities and discuss the translation process in translating chapters 3, 4, and 5 of Civil Engineering book entitled Technical Standards and Guidelines for Planning and Design of Sabo Structures.
In translating the civil engineering book, I faced several difficulties, such as translating complex sentences, technical terms, and physics formulas. However, the problem of translating technical terms and physics formulas was overcome by looking for references to reliable sources, such as dictionaries of Indonesian and English terms, research reports, and government websites that discuss the topic. In addition, the solution in translating complex sentences is to divide the sentence into two or three simplex sentences.
