The objective of this internship report is to explain the internship activities I did at Balai Bahasa Provinsi Jawa Tengah in the translation division.
I did this internship for eight weeks, starting from January 11th, 2021 to March 5th, 2021. The internship was divided into two parts of activities; the main activity and additional activities. The main activity was translating children book, while the additional activities include collecting journals related to translation, resuming journals, collecting translated literary works, translating poetries, translating information sheets, etc.
This internship report explains the process of translating the children book in detail. In the process of translating, I used the translation method described by Nida and Taber. I also used the translation method in the translation process of my additional activities. I also explain how I faced problems that arose when translating the children book, such as translating greeting/addressing words, translating onomatopoeia, and translating unfamiliar vocabularies that are difficult to transfer. I solved the problem by using some references from Google.
