Students of the English Diploma Program are required to conduct an internship program initiated by the Vocational School of Universitas Sebelas Maret as a part of graduation requirements. This report discusses the internship activities conducted at Balai Bahasa Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, located in Jl. I Dewa Nyoman Oka No. 34, Kotabaru, Kec. Gondokusuman, Kota Yogyakarta, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. This internship program was held for two months, from March 1 to April 22, 2022. The purposes of this internship program are to explore soft or hard skills and meet the requirement to graduate from English Diploma Program, Universitas Sebelas Maret. The main activity of this internship program is translating literary articles taken from WIDYASASTRA journal. Language pairs for the translation are English-Indonesia and vice versa. The articles that were translated are “Student Anxiety During Online Learning in A Pandemic Condition” (EN-ID) and “Nilai-Nilai Kehidupan Dalam Novel Dunia Cecilia Karya Jostein Gaarder” (ID-EN). The articles can be accessed on WIDYASASTRA website. For additional activities, I edited a literary article and was appointed as a note-taker at the Balai Bahasa Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta’s meeting. During the translation process, I found some obstacles, such as unfamiliar words and grammatical errors in source texts. I can handle it well and produce good quality translation by utilizing three steps of translation which are analysing, transferring, and restructuring. My internship supervisor from Balai Bahasa Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta also provided helpful suggestions during my internship. However, there are recommendations not only for the institution but also for future interns as well as the English Diploma Program.
