ENGLISH TEACHING PROCESS DURING THE PANDEMIC: A CASE STUDY IN A PUBLIC SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN WONOGIRI

English teaching process is an activity where the teacher guides the learners to understand English systematically by providing them with language explanations and opportunities. The teacher needs to prepare the class well so that the teaching process can be done successfully and the students can understand the language. Regardless of this concept, the researcher has witnessed the fact that the teaching process is essential in the classroom. During the COVID-19 pandemic, schools were closed and limited. They needed to provide alternative methods for the students so that they are able to learn from home. This study is conducted not only to explore and investigate further about the English teaching process during the COVID-19 pandemic but also to reveal the teacher’s strategies to adjust the process. This study used qualitative research, specifically case study, to explore the issue which chose the English teacher of public senior high school in Wonogiri as the participant. English teaching process during the pandemic was conducted using online and hybrid classes. There were several points that were essential, namely the component in English teaching process, and the teaching media. Thus, some strategies were used in order to adjust the teaching process. As a result, it led to the implication of new scenario in the English teaching process, especially with technology.
