Research Background: Fire disasters cannot be predicted when they will occur, their causes, and how much impact they will have. Hotels as a service industry should provide and guarantee services and supporting facilities that are safe and comfortable for consumers, so it is necessary to manage fire hazards properly and fire preparedness, one of which is with a period of service and good quality fire-fighting training. Hotel Sahid Jaya Surakarta has made efforts to improve fire preparedness by organizing training and fire-fighting simulations and has carried out fire prevention by providing fire protection facilities such as APAR, Hydrant, Sprinkler, and Fire Alarm. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a relationship between the Quality of Fire Fighting Training and Working Period with Fire Preparedness for Workers at Hotel Sahid Jaya Surakarta.
Methods: This study used an analytic observational method with a cross sectional design. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling on the target population of all workers, totaling 80 respondents, obtained a sample of 60 respondents based on the slovin formula. The working period uses the respondent's identity measurement, the quality of fire-fighting training and fire preparedness using a questionnaire. Bivariate data were analyzed by somers'd test.
Results: Somers'd test results show that from the two variables studied there is one variable that has a significant relationship with fire preparedness, namely the quality of fire-fighting training (p value = 0.00, r = 0.567).
Conclusion: The quality of Fire Training is significantly related to the fire preparedness of Sahid Jaya Surakarta Hotel workers.
