THE ROLE OF INFLAMMATION-BASED INDEX AND CYFRA 21-1 AS PREDICTORS OF CHEMOTHERAPY RESPONSE: A STUDY ON ADVANCED LUNG CANCER INFLAMMATION INDEX, GLASGOW PROGNOSTIC SCORE, AND PROGNOSTIC NUTRITIONAL INDEX

Background: Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Carcinogenic substances can result in systemic inflammation processes in lung cancer, which can be observed through NLR, CRP, albumin, ALI, GPS, and PNI. Inflammatory markers and tumor markers such as Cyfra 21-1 can be used as predictors of lung cancer prognosis.

Objective: To analyze the role of ALI, GPS, PNI, and Cyfra 21-1 as predictors of chemotherapy response in lung cancer patients.

Methods: This study is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional approach conducted at the Clinical Pathology Sub-Installation of RSDM in Surakarta in June 2023. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-square test/Fisher exact test. Cut-off determination was done using ROC curve and AUC. The results were presented in a 2x2 table to determine sensitivity and specificity, and multivariate analysis was performed using logistic regression.

Results: Variables associated with chemotherapy response were ALI < 38 xss=removed xss=removed xss=removed xss=removed xss=removed xss=removed> 21-1 1 (OR = 10,57; 95% IK = 2,03-55,12; p = 0,005) is the strongest predictor for chemotherapy response, fpllowed by ALI (OR = 4,39; 95% IK = 1,10-17,56; p = 0,037).

Conclusion: Cyfra 21-1 level ? 2.71 ng/mL can serve as an independent predictor of chemotherapy response in lung cancer patients.
