This research aims to describe the types and function of Sexual Expressions in Secret Class comic-book, to identify the translation techniques used by the translator in regards to translating the sexual expressions into Bahasa Indonesia, to reveal the shift of sexual expressions, and to evaluate the translation quality in terms of accuracy, acceptability, and readability.

The data of this research were analyzed by using a descriptive qualitative method. The source of data consisted of documents and informants. They were all the dialogues in a comic-book entitled Secret Class, while the informants were two raters who validated the data and assessed the quality in terms of accuracy, acceptability, and readability of the sexual expressions. In determining the source of data, this research applied purposive sampling technique because the document and informants were selected purposively. In collecting the data, this research applied content analysis and Focus Group Discussion (FGD).

The research findings show that there are a total of 134 data containing six types: sexual activities (38 data), female vital organs (29 data), male vital organs (24 data), orgasm (21 data), intercourse (19 data), and sex doers (3 data) and three functions of sexual expressions found in the comic-book: euphemism (60 data), orthophemism (46 data), and dysphemism (28 data). Furthermore, this research identified 11 techniques used by translators to render the sexual expressions. They are established equivalent (41.04%), implicitation (25.37%), explicitation (17.16%), discursive creation (3.73%), modulation (3.73%), generalization (3.73%), pure borrowing (2.99%), literal translation (0.75%), cultural adaptation (0.75%), transposition (0.75%), and paraphrase (0.75%). Furthermore, the translator has shifted a total of 6 (4.48%) sexual expression in terms of types and 54 (40.03%) in terms of functions from the data. The average score of accuracy is 2.45, indicating that the translations are less accurate. Meanwhile the average score of acceptability and readability are both 3.00, indicating that the translations are acceptable and highly readable. The total score of the translation quality assessment is 2.72 out of 3. The score proves that the translator had succeeded in translating the sexual expression in Secret Class comic-book from the source language into the target language.
