This internship report was written based on the internship activities at Museum Keraton Surakarta. It is located at Jl. Sidikoro No.1-2, Baluwarti, Kec. Ps. Kliwon, Kota Surakarta, Jawa Tengah 57144. This internship program was conducted to apply student’s knowledge and competence in the world of work. During the internship, I applied what I have gained during the college course. Especially in translating philosophy description text and making subtitles for promotional videos. Besides, this report contains the obstacles I faced during my two-months internship activities at the museum and solutions. I produced a translation of the philosophy description text about the Keraton Surakarta buildings. In translating the text, there were many Javanese terms that I never heard before. To solve them, I searched for the equivalent in Indonesian on the internet and asked the museum’s senior tour guide for the terms I could not find on the internet. I also made a promotional video to promote Museum Keraton Surakarta with my internship partners, and I got a part to create the subtitle in English. I faced difficulties in adjusting the sentence length with the actor’s voice duration when making the subtitle on the video, so I reduced some words. There was also an additional activity that I conducted, which was guiding visitors. Although the additional activity was unrelated to my skills, this activity can improve my communication skills.
