The objective of this report is to summarize the internship activities at PT Pratama Transsoftware Inti Bahasa (Translation Transfer) that started from January 16 until March 10, 2023 which focuses on two projects; main projects and additional projects. The projects were conducted using CAT Tools; WordFast Pro and MateSub. Translating Etex’s code of conduct and owner’s manuals of LG’s OL55D DVD Mini Hi-fi Audio were the main activities carried out during the internship, then translating simple manuals of LG’s DVD Mini Hi-fi Audio, game narrations of Idle Legions, and TEDx Talks “Breaking the Language Barrier” subtitles were the additional activities. The translation process adapted Nida & Taber’s theory which consists of; (1) analyzing, (2) transferring, and (3) restructuring methods. In transferring the source text into the target text, I applied Molina & Albir’s techniques. The difficulties faced during the translation process were understanding the unfamiliar terminologies and producing the message as the original text. The strategies I used to solve the problems were researching by looking for the meaning of the terms in online dictionary or internet related to the topic and asking the internship mentor of Translation Transfer. This internship helped me to obtain more knowledge and experience; I learned how to translate texts with any kind of technical terms, tried new CAT Tools, solved the problem I faced, managed the time, and put professionalism in the workplace.
