This internship report was written based on the internship program activities conducted at Whatravel, a foreign tour and travel company based in Jakarta and Bandung. It describes my main online activity, writing travel promotional articles, that started from January 16th to March 15th, 2023. It focuses on six stages of writing travel promotional articles for 25 countries on Whatravel’s official website. They are pre-writing stage, drafting stage, revision and refinement stage, seeking feedback stage, finalizing and formatting stage, and proofreading stage. In the process of writing the articles, I conducted some research on the countries that became potential travel destinations of Whatravel and implemented copywriting strategies namely emotional appeal strategy and call-to-action strategy. I encountered two challenges when completing the tasks, they are sorting out the important information to be included in the article and selecting terms that could persuade or increase the reader's interest in the Whatravel service. To overcome these challenges, I focused on identifying the unique selling points, engaged in thorough drafting, emphasized the most significant aspects, and carefully selected words and phrases. After all the processes were finished, my Whatravel’s supervisor confirmed that the travel promotional articles for 25 countries were qualified and ready to be published on Whatravel’s official website at https://whatravel.com/page/destinations-list.
