The internship report is written based on internship activities at Translation Transfer where the internship program started from January 16th to March 10th, 2023. The purpose of writing this internship report is to explain the activities carried out during the internship which include material exposure activity, sharing activity, and assignment activity. In the assignment activity, I translated four texts of different types belonging to Translation Transfer clients. I divided these four texts into two categories. The first category is the Main Project which consists of legal texts and user manual. The second category is the Additional Project which consists of user manual, game texts, and video subtitles. In the process of translating the above projects, I used the Skopos theory proposed by Vermeer. Skopos theory has three main elements, including 1) the process of translation (based on the translation process proposed by Nida and Taber), 2) the result of translation (based on the rules in Skopos theory), and 3) the mode of translation (based on the translation techniques proposed by Molina and Albir). These three elements must be understood by the translator because they are very important and interrelated with each other. From combining the three elements above, the process of translation (Nida and Taber’s theory), the result of translation (Skopos’ theory), and the mode of translation (Molina and Albir’s theory), I concluded that they were effective in translating the texts in the Main Project and Additional Project. In fact, the use of these three elements also helped me overcome the challenges I encountered when translating Translation Transfer’s clients’ projects. Not only that, I also utilized conventional tools (e.g. dictionaries) and non-conventional tools (e.g. CAT Tools, online dictionaries, KBBI, proZ.com, etc.) to deal with the challenges I encountered while translating the projects. From these various steps, I was able to translate the message contained in the Source Text well so that the resulting translation was of high quality.
