This report describes my internship activities at the Balai Bahasa Provinsi Jawa Tengah (BBPJT) from January 16th to March 11th, 2023. They were divided into two categories: the main and additional activity. The main activity of the internship program is translating a kids' short film: Purl from English into Indonesian. When translating the film subtitles/captions, I applied the three translation processes Nida and Taber proposed: analysis, transfer and restructuring. The problems I encountered when translating the film were translating idioms and making the translation easier for children to understand. To solve the issues, I looked up the meaning of the idioms in dictionaries, such as Cambridge and Merriam-Webster Dictionary, and I also googled for more parallel texts for more references. The strategy I applied to translate them is by paraphrasing the idioms in the target language and making them as explicit as possible.
