This final report is to recapitulate the student internship activities at Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Surakarta, carried out from February 6th, 2023, until March 31st , 2023. It also explains the main and additional activities during the internship, the unexpected obstacles, and the techniques to solve them. The writer’s main activity is translating the children’s storybook Little Lord Fauntleroy by Classic Starts. The writer applied the Nida & Taber’s (1969) translation process, they are (1) Analysis, (2) Transfer, and (3) Restructuring, and some Molina & Albir (2002) techniques to solve many obstacles that found while translating the book. In the process of translating this children's storybook, the writer also encountered some obstacles, such as incomprehensible English terms meanings and difficulties to find the established equivalence in Indonesian. So, the writer’s applied several ways (e.g. doing deep research, using e-dictionaries, and using KBBI), to deal with the obstacles. At this internship location, the writer had also other tasks that are perfectly retrieved, such servicing visitors and ‘shelving’ books. By conducting this internship, the writer learns a lot what must be well prepared while applying for work in the future, especially to be a competent translator.
