This research aims to discover the types of proper names found in the Netflix TV Series The Crown Season 1 Episodes 1-3, identify the translation techniques used by the translator in translating proper names into Indonesian, and analyze the impacts of translation techniques on the translation quality in terms of accuracy and acceptability.It is a descriptive qualitative research because the data collected are the form of words. The sources of data are taken from the document and informants by using purposive sampling technique. The first data sources are proper names found in The Crown Season 1 Episodes 1-3. Thus, informants include two rates who give the validation of data and assess the translation quality in terms of accuracy and acceptability. Data is gained using content analysis and Focus Group Discussion (FGD).According to the research findings, a total of 125 data are classified into three types of proper names: people’s names (52%), geographical words (28%), and object names (20%). In addition, 10 translation techniques have been identified for translating proper names in The Crown Season 1 Episodes 1-3 into Indonesian. Transference is the most frequently used technique since it preserves the form of source language names when conveying them into Indonesian. When translating proper names, the translator has to consider using the generalization technique. The result demonstrates that the generalization technique leads to a common name in the target language. The accuracy score is 2.90, indicating that the proper names in The Crown Season 1 Episodes 1-3 have been translated correctly into their equivalent meanings in the target text. Furthermore, the average acceptability score is 2.94, showing that the proper names in The Crown Season 1 Episodes 1-3 have been translated into the target language’s common and popular vocabularies. Finally, the total translation quality score is 2.91, pointing out that the translator is successful in creating a high-quality translation.
