× The final project is written based on the job training done by the writer in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Kragan from January, 26th until March, 26th, 2009. The purpose of this final project is to know and understand the process of teaching and learning English for 5th grade students including the problems faced by the teachers and the students and the solutions to solve those problems. The writer taught English lesson and used some materials related to the topic. The materials were taken from “Start with English grade 5th elementary school” and “Fadillah” worksheet. The writer also gave some skills to increase the student’s ability such as reading, speaking, writing and listening. During the process of teaching and learning English, the writer found some problems faced by the teachers and the students. The problems faced by the students were memorizing the English words, pronouncing, spelling and writing English. While, the problem faced by the teachers were uncooperative students and handling the class. Besides, the writer also presented the solutions to solve the problems in order to make the process of teaching and learning English for 5th grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri Kragan run well.
