× Abstrak Manufacturing industrial sector in 2000 reported growth of 6.2% (BPS:200). It indicates that the marketplace of manufacturing industrial sector is very substantial in establishing Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Considering such fact, industrialization is considered as “panacea” to cope with the economic development problems in developing countries. The problem raised in this study is how the investment, both domestic and foreign, and industrial sector labor can affect the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Indonesian industrial sector during 1980-2008 periods. Based on the problems, the hypothesis proposed is that investment (domestic and foreign) and labor variables affect significantly the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This study belongs to a quantitative research with time series data, using a multiple linear regression approach with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. Based on the result of examination, it can be shown that the labor variable affects positively significantly the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Indonesian industrial sector. While the domestic investment does not affect the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and foreign investment affects negatively the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Indonesian industrial sector. From the result of research conducted, the following recommendations can be given: (1) to expand the job opportunity in industrial sector. (2) to stabilize the domestic political condition and security and to maintain the cross-countries relations. (3) to decline the loan interest rate and availability of the guarantee of business sustainability from the government to the investor.
