Abstrak : ABSTRACT STUDY OF IMPURITY EFFECT ON CRYSTALLISATION RATE OF THIN POLY(ETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE) (PET) FILMS AT TEMPERATURE 180oC WITH THICKNESS VARIATION In this research have been done examination about impurity influence to crystallisation rate of thin PET films at crystallisation temperature 180oC by measuring change of spherulite diameter to time. There is 4 measurement position have been done, that is vertical, horizontal, right diagonally and left diagonally. Crystallisation rate were obtained from slope of radius as time function graph. Result of research indicate that spherulite radius increase to time. There are heterogenity of crystallization rate.At thick 370Å and 1500Å , accelerateing bigger spherulite have impurity crystallization than accelerateing spherulite have purity crystallization attendance of Impurity cause rate improvement of crystallization at temperature 180oC caused by surface free energy reduction, but do not too having an effect on to accelerateing crystallization at thick 860Å and 1380Å, the mentioned caused by spherulite at impurity oppressed other spherulit so that crystallization rate of impurity pursued.
