This internship report is written based on the Students Internship Program (KMM) at Translation Transfer, Jember, which took place from January 29th to March 28th, 2024. This internship report aims to explain the translation activities during the internship at Translation Transfer. The main activity I conducted was translating legal texts, particularly the financial services authority (OJK) on recording and regulatory Sandbox using CAT Tools. In addition to translating legal texts, I also carried out additional activities such as writing articles, translating blogs, and collecting data. In the translation process, I utilized the assistance of CAT Tools, specifically SDL Trados 2019. During the internship, I faced challenges such as complex sentences, foreign terms, terminology consistency, and grammar. However, I found solutions to these challenges by researching and applying translation methods. I used the translation method by Nida and Taber (1982) and translation techniques by Molina and Albir (2002) to overcome difficulties that arose during the translation process. I also used online dictionaries and ProZ.com to search for specific terms. Furthermore, I used Google Search and Google Scholar to find references to the usage of foreign terms with the parallel text technique. Through my internship at Translation Transfer, I gained a lot of valuable experience. The experiences I acquired include translating, editing, and creating articles. I also gained new experience in collecting data in the marketing lesson. Additionally, this internship improved both my hard skills and soft skills. The hard skills I got such as proficiency in using CAT Tools (e.g., SDL Trados), research skills, editing skills, and etc. Not only that, this internship also trained my soft skills in time management, task discipline, and initiative. I also recommended that English Diploma Program conduct this KMM activity, especially with relevant partners like Translation Transfer.
