This internship report is written to describe the activities during my internship program at PT Anak Hebat Indonesia. PT Anak Hebat Indonesia is one of the publishing agencies that has been established since November 2016 and has published more than 2000 book titles of various genres, located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. With its years of experience in book publishing, I decided to choose PT Anak Hebat Indonesia as the industry to carry out my internship program. This internship program lasted for 2 months starting from January 29 to March 23, 2024. During the internship program, I worked on a translation project for the novel Max Havelaar or The Coffee Auctions of The Dutch Trading Company written by Multatuli. In translating the novel, I used the translation theory of Nida and Taber (1969) with 3 stages in translation, namely analyzing, transferring, and restructuring. During the translation process, I also encountered some problems related to the terms in the novel, such as unfamiliar terms, old terms, French terms, and religious terms. These are because the novel was written in 1868, during the Dutch and after the French colonization of the Dutch East Indies. In addition, there are also religious terms because, in his writings, the author always declares that he is a religious believer. To solve these problems, I used various search engines and resources, including Google Search and online dictionaries. This internship program has given me a lot of benefits in improving my translation skills and abilities. In addition, working directly with experts also provided me with knowledge and experience that I had not had before. Furthermore, this internship program provides many benefits in preparing graduating students to be able to work effectively in the industry.
