influence of students’ language anxiety in improving English speaking skills.















The purpose of this study is to examine: 1) the level of students’ anxiety to















practice speaking; 2) the factors that cause students being anxious to practice















communication skills using English; 3) and how students deal with these















problems. Students who have anxiety problems can affect the level of English















language skills, especially speaking. This study is applying qualitative















research with the descriptive case study method. This research take place in a















senior high school in Sukoharjo that contain three classes with total 97















students<a name="_Hlk189196459">.</a></span><span lang="EN-US" xss=removed> The result showed if the level of speaking















anxiety were categorized as moderate each class.</span><span lang="ZH-CN" xss=removed> The factors that appear are individual, sociocultural, and linguistic.</span><span lang="EN-US" xss=removed> Respondents had problems such as inability to















expressing the idea, feel unconfident with their ability, worry having bad















result, talking only in certain condition, low energy to attend the class. The















class looked so intimidating and the friend weren’t supportive. Some of them















feel awkward and afraid of unfavorable things happened. Some respondents















complained about the confusing grammar, a lot of unfamiliar vocabularies, and















hard pronunciation. </span><span lang="ZH-CN" xss=removed>The coping strategies that















could reduce anxiety are </span><span lang="EN-US" xss=removed>preparing the skill















and topic, self-control, self-study outside the school, and add more references















to study English</span><span lang="ZH-CN" xss=removed>.</span></p>
