research aims to determine whether there is a correlation between (1)

self-confidence and students' speaking skill; (2) willingness to communicate

and students' speaking skill; (3) self-confidence, willingness to communicate

simultaneously, and students' speaking skill. This research used a quantitative

correlation method. To collect data, the researcher used a questionnaire and a

speaking skills test, assessed by teachers and researchers. The population in

this research was eighth-grade students in a junior high school in Madiun with

a total of 136 students. The sample consisted of 30 students with a sampling

technique using multi-stage cluster random sampling. Data analysis in this

research was carried out using correlation and regression techniques. The data

processing for this research was carried out using IBM SPSS Statistics version

30 software to test validity, reliability, and other statistical analyses.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" xss="removed" xss=removed><span xss="removed">The

results of data analysis showed that (1) there is a positive correlation

between self-confidence and students' speaking skill (to 2.296 >

tt = 2.048); (2) there is a positive correlation between willingness

to communicate and students' speaking skill (to = 3.221 < t>t

= 2.048); (3) there is a positive correlation between self-confidence,

willingness to communicate simultaneously, and students' speaking skill (to

= 3.352 < t>t = 2.048). The results of this research indicate that

if students' self-confidence and willingness to communicate are high, their

speaking skill will also improve. This research is expected to encourage

teachers to pay more attention to students' self-confidence and willingness to

communicate in the learning process so that students' speaking skills can

achieve maximum results. This research is expected to provide input to teachers

in designing more effective teaching strategies and serve as a guideline in

developing English learning programs based on active communication and psychological

approaches to increase students' self-confidence and willingness to communicate

in terms of speaking skill.</span></p>
