This internship report describes the translation projects I worked on at PT Prima Wacana Translation (PW Translation). It was conducted online for two months, from February 17th to April 11th, 2025. I completed an internship at PW Translation to gain hands-on experience in the professional translation industry, particularly in the field of legal translation. My primary responsibility was to translate various types of legal documents from Indonesian to English, including birth certificates, diploma certificates, employment contracts, and approvals and validations of company establishment certificates. Moreover, I performed additional tasks during the internship program, including content creation for PW Translation’s social media needs, especially Instagram and TikTok. During the translation process, I encountered several challenges, particularly in handling difficult terminology in legal texts. To address these, I applied the translation stages outlined by Nida and Taber (1969), which are analysis, transfer, and restructuring, as well as the translation techniques proposed by Molina and Albir (2002). Through this strategy, I successfully produced translations that were not only accurate but also effective in bridging cross-border legal communication. To support the translation process, I researched to deepen my understanding and prevent potential misinterpretations during the translation process. This activity helped me strengthen my translation skills and taught me how to address real-world challenges in translating legal texts. Additionally, I learned how translation can facilitate a company’s efforts to submit legal documents to the relevant authorities. Overall, this internship provided valuable experience in translating legal documents and creating creative content while supporting PW Translation’s goal of expanding its global market.
