of writing a reflective diary during field
experience
on the teaching practice of
EFL pre-service teachers: a narrative inquiry of pre- service teacher perception. This study involved three pre-service English teachers who
had undergone teaching internships
in junior and senior high schools in
Surakarta. Using a narrative inquiry approach, data were collected through the reflective diaries that had been written by the EFL pre-service teachers during the field experiences, questionnaires, and interviews to gain valuable insights
into
the experiences, opinions, and practices of prospective
English teachers related to the
impact of writing reflective
diary during field experience
on teaching practice of EFL pre-service teachers: a narrative inquiry of pre-service teacher perception. Data
were analyzed using
thematic narrative analysis.
This study reveals the types
of writing reflective
diaries that record EFL pre-service teachers' experience during
the teaching practicum program and how the experience of writing reflective diaries
affects the teaching practicum as perceived by
pre-service
teachers. Pre-service
teachers viewed changes in a number of areas, including teaching, self- improvement, self-assessment, and self-confidence. This study highlights the types of
writing reflective diaries that record EFL pre-service teachers' experience during
the teaching practicum program and how the experience of writing reflective diaries
affects the teaching practicum as perceived
by pre-service teachers. However,
this study also identifies several challenges in writing reflective diaries,
the benefits of writing reflective diaries, short-term observations, and
limited
scope of variables.
