Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : (1) ada tidaknya perbedaan pengaruh antara pembelajaran kooperatif model Think Pair Share dan model Number Heads Together terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa, (2) ada tidaknya perbedaan pengaruh antara motivasi belajar kategori tinggi dan rendah terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa, (3) ada tidaknya interaksi antara penggunaan model pembelajaran dan motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa .
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2 x 2. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Jatiroto Wonogiri semester satu Tahun Ajaran 2008/2009. Sampel diambil dengan teknik random sampling sehingga didapat dua kelas sebagai sampel penelitian, yaitu kelas VIID berjumlah 36 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIIE berjumlah 39 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik dokumentasi, teknik angket, dan teknik tes. Teknik dokumentasi digunakan untuk memperoleh data keadaan awal Fisika siswa kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Teknik angket digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat motivasi belajar Fisika siswa. Teknik tes digunakan untuk memperoleh data kemampuan kognitif Fisika siswa pada pokok bahasan Kalor. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan teknik anava dua jalan dengan sel tak sama kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut anava menggunakan metode Scheffe’ yang didahului dengan uji prasyarat analisis meliputi uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas.
Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dalam penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa : (1) Ada perbedaan pengaruh antara pembelajaran kooperatif model Think Pair Share dan model Number Heads Together terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa pada pokok bahasan kalor(FA = 18.69 > F0.05; 1.71 = 3,98). Siswa yang diberi pembelajaran dengan model Think Pair Share pada pokok bahasan kalor mempunyai kemampuan kognitif yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang diberi pembelajaran dengan model Number Heads Together (2) Ada perbedaan pengaruh antara motivasi belajar kategori tinggi dan rendah terhadap kemampuan kognitif pokok bahasan kalor(FB = 36.92 > F0.05; 1.71 = 3,98 ). Siswa yang mempunyai motivasi tinggi untuk belajar fisika akan mempunyai kemampuan kognitif yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mempunyai motivasi rendah untuk belajar fisika, (3) Tidak terdapat interaksi antara penggunaan model pembelajaran dengan motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan kognitif fisika siswa pada pokok bahasan kalor(FAB = 0.49 < F0.05; 1.71 = 3,98). Sehingga antara motivasi belajar dan pembelajaran fisika dengan model Think Pair Share dan model Number Heads Together mempunyai pengaruh sendiri-sendiri terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa pada pokok bahasan kalor.
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to know: (1) there is or there is not the influence diffrence between cooperatif learning Think Pair Share model and Number Heads Together model to student cognitive ability, (2) there is or there is not the influence difference between high and low studying motivation face to student cognitif ability, (3) there is or there is not interaction between the using of learning model and studying motivation face to student cognitive ability.
This research use eperiment method by factorial design 2 X 2. The population in this research are the students of SMP N 2 Jatiroto Wonogiri class VII one semester academic year 2008/2009. The sample is taken by random sampling so it is got two class as research sampling those are class VIID consist of 36 students as experiment class and class VII E consist of 39 students as control class. The collecting technic that use is documentation technic, quesioner technic and test technic. Documentation technic is used to get data of students physics early condition between experiment and control group. Quesioner technic ia used to know the grade of student physics studying motivation. Test technic is used to get the data of students physics cognitive ability on the calor discussion. Hypothesis test is done by using two ways ANAVA technique by different cell preceded by analysis prerequisite test by covering normality test and homogeneity test, then by continued ANAVA test by mean of Scheffe’ method.
Based on the data analyze result and discussion in this research, can be concluded that: (1) There is the influence difference between cooperatif learning Think Pair Share model and Number Heads Together model to students cognitive ability on the calor discussion(FA = 18.69 > F0.05; 1.71 = 3,98). The students that are given learning by cooperative learning model Think Pair Share on the calor discussion have cognitive ability that is better than with students that are given learning by Number Heads Together model, (2) There is the influence difference between high and low studying motivation to cognitive ability the calor discussion(FB = 36.92 > F0.05; 1.71 = 3,98 ). The students that have motivation to study physic will have cognitive ability better than with students that have low motivation to study physics, (3) There is no interaction between using learning model by studying motivation to student physics cognitive ability on the calor discussion (FAB = 0.49 < F0.05; 1.71 = 3,98).So between studying motivation and physics learning with Think Pair Share model and Number Heads Together model have self influence face to student cognitive ability on the calor discussion.
