× ABSTRAK This research aims to find out the effect of investment and labor on the PDRB of Central Java Province during 1986-2008 period. In line with such problems, the following hypothesis is proposed: It is hypothesized that investment and labor affect investment and labor on the PDRB of Central Java Province during 1986-2008 period. In line with the problem and hypothesis of research, the research took the secondary data derived from Central Statistical Bureau (BPS) of Central Java Province; the data taken in this research consisting of data on investment, labor and PDRB of Central Java Province. The data employed was the one with 23 scale from 1986-2008, then the data collected was put onto the multiple linear regression, and after the estimation parameter obtained, the examination was done using statistic and classical assumption tests. The result of statistic test in this research shows that the independent variable of investment affects positively and significantly the PDRB of Central Java Province, Similarly, the labor affects positively and significantly the PDRB of Central Java Province. Meanwhile based on the result of F-test, investment and labor simultaneously affects the PDRB of Central Java Province. The result of econometric test shows the absence of multicolinearity, heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation distractions. Considering the result of data analysis, it is recommended that the government should create conducive climate for the implementation of various investment projects in Central Java Province. The labor has substantial effect on PDRB so that there should be the use of intensive-labor technology to absorb the labor more optimally in the production process.
