The utilization of plastic materials, frequently composed of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), constitutes a notable example. The utilization of ABS poses a significant environmental concern due to its recalcitrance, which hinders its biodegradation. The utilization of natural materials as a substitute has seen a marked increase in demand. The objective of this study is to ascertain how the incorporation of Fimbristylis globulosa fibers into the ABS matrix influences its mechanical and physical properties. The composite's fabrication process entails the amalgamation of Fimbristylis globulosa fibers and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) through a mechanical mixture. Subsequently, the composite is subjected to a pelleting process that utilizes an extrusion machine. In the culminating stage, the composite undergoes a hot press process. The findings reveal that incorporating Fimbristylis globulosa fibers into ABS matrix composites enhances the tensile strength of the resultant materials, with an observed increase of up to 20% when subjected to a volume fraction variation of 20%. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that increases in the additive content that exceed 20% (30% and 40%), respectively, result in a reduction of the mechanical strength of the material. The incorporation of Fimbristylis globulosa fibers into the physical properties of ABS matrix composites demonstrates an optimal fiber distribution at volume fraction variations of up to 20%. Conversely, additions that exceed 20% (30% and 40%) will result in aggregation.
