× ABSTRAK Beton kertas (papercrete) merupakan suatu material yang terbuat dari campuran kertas dengan port land semen. Kertas yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah limbah kertas koran yang kemudian diolah menjadi bubur kertas dengan tujuan untuk mempermudah dalam pengadukan campuran. Beton kertas digunakan sebagai salah satu bahan alternat if seperti dinding part isi, blok, panel, plesteran dan lain-lain yang ramah lingkungan. Untuk menambah kinerjanya, dalam pembuatan beton kertas dapat ditambahkan agregat sepert i pasir, kaolin dan bahan lainnya untuk mendapatkan beton kertas dengan karakteristik yang diinginkan. Hal yang menghalangi saat ini adalah pengetahuan yang kurang mengenai sifat- sifat beton kertas, karena beton kertas kurang berkembang terutama di Indonesia. Penelitian ini akan menunjukkan perilaku susut (shrinkage) beton kertas. Nilai susut (shrinkage) yang diperoleh diharapkan dapat menunjukkan seberapa besar nilai susut dari beton kertas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratorium. Pada penelitian ini digunakan beberapa variasi campuran yaitu dengan variasi perbandingan berat semen, kertas, pasir (SKP) 111, SKP 121, SKP 131, SKP 112, SKP 122 dan SKP 132. Pengamatan ini akan menghasilkan data susut beton kertas kemudian dianalisis sehingga dapat diketahui seberapa besar susut beton kertas pada masing-masing variasi kemudian dibandingkan dengan susut yang terjadi pada beton normal dan campuran yang menghasilkan nilai susut terkecil. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa dengan penambahan proporsi kertas akan memperbesar nilai susut . Sebaliknya, dengan penambahan proporsi pasir akan mengurangi nilai susut dari beton kertas tersebut . Beton kertas SKP 112 memiliki nilai susut terkecil yakni sebesar 4843,06 microstrain. Dari analisis juga diketahui bahwa pola shrinkage beton kertas berbeda dari beton normal. Hal ini dikarenakan kandungan air yang besar pada beton kertas dan proses pengerasannya yang lebih lambat dibanding beton normal. The paper used in this study is waste newsprint which was processed to a pulp in order to facilitate the stirring mixture. Papercrete used as one of alternative materials such as wall part it ions, blocks, panels, stucco and other environmentally friendly. To add to its performance in the manufacture of papercrete can be added aggregates such as sand, kaolin and other materials to obtain papercrete with the desired characterist ics. Things that prevent today is the lack of knowledge about the propert ies of papercrete because papercrete is less developed, especially in Indonesia. This study will show shrinkage behavior of papercrete. Shrinkage value which can be obtained is expected to show how much the shrinkage value of papercrete. The method used in this study is the experimental laboratory. In this study used some variat ion with a variation of the mixture weight rat io of cement , paper, sand (SKP) 111, SKP 121, SKP 131, SKP 112, 122 and SKP SKP 132. These observat ions will yield shrinkage data of papercrete and then analyzed so as to know how much shrinkage of papercrete in each variat ion and then compared with the shrinkage of occurred in the normal concrete and mix that produces the smallest decrease the value. Data analysis shows that with the addition proportion of paper will increase the lost value. Conversely, with the addition proport ion of sand will reduce the shrinkage values of papercrete. Papercrete SKP 112 has the lowest shrinkage value of 4843.06 microstrain. From the analysis also note that the shrinkage pat tern of papercrete is different from the normal concrete. This is because the large water content in papercrete and hardening process is slower than normal concrete. Keywords: papercrete, shrinkage, SKP
