This study examines the representation of the main character of the movie Erin Brockovich (2000). This study aims to investigate the representation of Erin Brockovich's character as an ecofeminist activist in the movie Erin Brockovich (2000) through the narration and visual elements. The analysis techniques in this research use ecofeminist theory, feminist film theory, and Christian Mertz's film semiotics theory to decipher the complex character of Erin Brockovich. This study found that Erin Brockovich's character is represented as an ecofeminist activist who actively pursues environmental justice based on empathy and friendship, which are the values in the ethics of care in ecofeminism. Erin's character embodies the value of empathy and friendship through her actions and motivation. She empathizes with the Hinkley residents who became the victims of water pollution caused by the big company PG&E, and uses this as motivation to take legal action against PG&E. In her fight for environmental justice, Erin encounters obstacles such as being excluded and belittled in the field of work, but Erin can prove ten-scène, camera technique, and dialogue of the movie help to convey Erin's complex personality. The camera technique provides space to create Erin’s subjectivity. Erin's revealing, brightly colored clothing and her way of speaking are weapons against the patriarchal system.
