Ludo-narrative refers to the interplay between the ludic and narrative aspects in video game. Ludo-narrative dissonance emerges when the game mechanics allow players to deviate from the narrative goal. However, when the narrative goal is reversed to evil, and the game mechanics reinforce players to involve themselves in violence, the ludo-narrative is not inherently dissonance. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the possibilities of other forms of ludo-narrative in Until Dawn (2015) as its narrative goal involves revenge and the game mechanics allow players to do violence. In order to conclude the ludo-narrative, this study uses the framework of ludic-naratology to analyze the narrative goals, players’ actions, and the cognitive-emotional engagement through the concept of deconstructions. This study reveals that the ludo-narrative in Until Dawn (2015) is considered to be a subversive ludo-narrative harmony. The subversion of ludo-narrative harmony comes from the narrative goal of revenge that justifies the violence and transformation through the game mechanics that result in the deconstruction of justice for the purpose of justice restoration.
