×ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui pandangan mahasiswa
Pendidikan Sosiologi Antropologi tentang profesi pendidik, (2) Mendeskripsikan
eksistensi profesi pendidik di masyarakat menurut pandangan mahasiswa, (3)
Mendeskripsikan profil pendidik ideal menurut pandangan mahasiswa, (4)
Mendeskripsikan alasan mahasiswa dalam memandang profesi pendidik.
Penelitian ini dirancang sebagai penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan strategi
studi kasus tunggal terpancang. Sumber data diperoleh dari subyek penelitian sebagai
berikut: (1) informan/nara sumber, yaitu mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Sosiologi
Antropologi; (2) peristiwa/aktivitas, yaitu aktifitas mahasiswa di kampus ketika
berdiskusi atau membicarakan tentang profesi pendidik; (3) tempat/lokasi, yaitu lokasi
yang merujuk pada aktivitas mahasiswa yakni di lingkungan kampus FKIP UNS. Teknik
pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam (in depth interviewing),
observasi secara langsung dan analisis dokumen. Teknik validitas data menggunakan
standar kredibilitas, standar transferabilitas, standar dependabilitas dan standar
konfirmabilitas. Adapun teknik analisis data menggunakan model interaktif.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa : (1) Pandangan
mahasiswa tentang profesi pendidik yaitu profesi pendidik adalah profesi yang mulia,
profesi pendidik adalah profesi sumber dari segala profesi, profesi pendidik adalah
profesi yang multidimensional, profesi pendidik adalah profesi yang terpinggirkan,
profesi pendidik adalah profesi yang rawan “tercemar”, profesi pendidik adalah profesi
alternatif dalam mencari pekerjaan; (2) Profil pendidik ideal menurut pandangan
mahasiswa adalah pendidik yang profesional, pendidik yang loyal dan berdedikasi,
pendidik yang kreatif dan inovatif dalam pembelajaran, pendidik yang sabar dan sayang
anak didik, pendidik yang berkarakter kuat dan cerdas, pendidik yang tidak egois, (3)
Eksistensi profesi pendidik di masyarakat menurut pandangan mahasiswa adalah
pendidik sebagai guru masyarakat, pendidik sebagai penggerak potensi, pendidik sebagai
penengah konflik, pendidik sebagai pencipta budaya; (4) Alasan mahasiswa memiliki
pandangan demikian tentang profesi pendidik adalah profesi pendidik merupakan profesi
yang mulia karena bekal setiap generasi ada di tangan pendidik yang mengabdi tanpa
tanda jasa, profesi pendidik merupakan sumber dari segala profesi karena pendidik
mengajar anak didik yang akan menjadi berbagai macam profesi, profesi pendidik itu
multidimensional karena tugas dan tanggungjawabnya sangat kompleks meliputi tugas
mendidik, tugas kemanusiaan dan tugas kemasyarakatan, profesi pendidik itu
terpinggirkan karena kurang diperhatikan oleh pemerintah dibanding profesi lain, profesi
pendidik merupakan profesi yang rawan “tercemar” karena banyak orang yang tidak
memenuhi kualifikasi sebagai guru namun menjadi dan atau dijadikan guru, profesi
pendidik merupakan alternatif dalam mencari pekerjaan karena dianggap memiliki syarat
yang relatif mudah.
ABSTRACT
This study was designed as a qualitative descriptive study with a single case study
strategy fixed. Sources of data obtained from research subjects, that is: (1) the
informant/resource persons, that is students of sociology anthropology of education courses;
(2) the incident/the activity, that is activities on campus as students discuss or talk about
profesi educators; (3) the place/the location, that is the location that referred in the activity of
the student that is in the FKIP UNS. Data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews,
observation directly and the analysis of the document. Technically the validity of the data
that was used was the standard of the credibility, transferability standards, standards of
dependability and konfirmabilitas standards. As for the analysis technique of the data that
was used in this research was the analysis of the interactive model that covered four
components that is the data collection, the reduction in the data, the guest plate of the data
and the pulling of the knot as well as his verification.
Was based on results of the research could be concluded that: (1) the View of the
student about the educator's profession that is the educator's profession was the noble
profession, the educator's profession was the source profession from all the professions, the
educator's profession was the profession that multidimensional, the educator's profession was
the profession were marginalized, the educator's profession was the serious profession most
tarnished, and the educator's profession was the alternative profession in looking for the
work; (2) the Existence of the educator's profession in the community according to the view
of the student was the educator as the community's teacher, the educator as the potential
motivator, the educator as the conflict mediator, and the educator as the leader of the culture;
(3) the Appearance of the ideal educator according to the view of the student was the
professional educator, the loyal educator and was dedicated towards the profession, the
creative educator and innovative in learning, the patient educator and love the pupil, the
educator who had a strong character and smart, and the not egoistic educator, (4) the
student's Reason for having the view was like this about the educator's profession because
provisions of each generation were on the hands of the educator that served without the
decoration, the educator's profession was the source from all the professions because the
educator taught the pupil that eventually this pupil will become various profession sorts, the
educator's profession multidimensional because the task and his responsibility were very
complex, the educator's profession were marginalized because not all that was paid
attention to by the government compared to the other profession, the educator's profession
was the serious profession most tarnished because of many people who did not fill the
qualification as the teacher but to and or was made the teacher, the educator's profession is
an alternative in finding jobs because it is considered to have an easier terms.
