Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi persiapan kemerdekaan Indonesia siswa kelas V SD Negeri 01 Blorong melalui metode role playing.
Variabel yang menjadi sasaran perubahan dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah peningkatan pemahaman pada materi persiapan kemerdekaan Indonesia, sedangkan variabel tindakan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penggunaan metode role playing.
Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan model siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan, yaitu : perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Sebagai subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 01 Blorong Kecamatan Jumantono, Kabupaten Karanganyar yang berjumlah 19 anak. Peneliti dalam mengambil subyek bukan secara individual, tetapi secara klasikal. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan, observasi, tes, dokumen. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik deskriptif yang digunakan untuk membandingkan hasil antar siklus dan teknik analisis kritis yang mencakup kegiatan untuk mengungkap kelebihan dan kekurangan hasil kinerja guru dan siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar.
Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) Nilai rata-rata kelas pemahaman konsep tentang persiapan kemerdekaan pada siklus I aspek Kemampuan menjelaskan usaha-usaha dalam rangka mempersiapkan kemerdekaan 61%, Kemampuan mengidentifikasi tokoh-tokoh dalam mempersiapkan kemerdekaan 59%, Kemampuan mengembangkan sikap menghargai jasa para tokoh dalam mempersiapkan kemerdekaan 61%, Kemampuan memerankan tokoh-tokoh sesuai dengan naskah skenario 62%, dan ketuntasan hasil belajar 61%. (2) Nilai rata-rata kelas Kemampuan menjelaskan usaha-usaha dalam rangka mempersiapkan kemerdekaan 72%, Kemampuan mengidentifikasi tokoh-tokoh dalam mempersiapkan kemerdekaan 69%, Kemampuan mengembangkan sikap menghargai jasa para tokoh dalam mempersiapkan kemerdekaan 70%, Kemampuan memerankan tokoh-tokoh sesuai dengan naskah skenario 74%, dan ketuntasan hasil belajar 71%.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan, bahwa melalui metode Role Playing dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep persiapan kemerdekaan Indonesia dalam pembelajaran IPS pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 01 Blorong, Jumantono, Karanganyar tahun pelajaran 2009/2010.
ABSTRACT
The objective of the research is to know that Role Playing Method can improve the student’s comprehension for the subject material of “ The Indonesian Independence Preparation” to the fifth grade students at SDN 01, Blorong, Jumantono, Karanganyar in the academic 2009/2010.
The bound variable of the research is improvement of the students comprehension for the subject material of “the Indonesian Independence Preparation”, and the fre one is the use of Role Playing Method.
This research belongs to Classroom Action Research ( CAR ) using the model of cycles. Each cycle consist of four steps namely planning, Conducting, Observing and Reflexing. The subject of this research is the fifth grade students of SDN Blorong 01, Jumantono, Karanganyar and the subject uses classical one.The data collection is done by using observation, test, and documentary technique. The tecninique of data analysis uses the descriptive that is aimed to compare the result for each cycle and the critical analysis technique that is used to disclose the strengths and the weaknesses for both students and teacher‘s achievement reached in the teaching learning process.
The result of the research first cycle are: 1) the class average score for the concept of Indonesian Independence Preparation comprehension : the aspect for the explaining skill of the efforts for preparing the Indonesian Independence Preparation is 61 %, the aspect for identifying the Indonesian Independence preparator figures is 59%, the ability for exploring the respectful attitude toward the Indonesian Independence preparatory figures is 61%, the ability for acting the figures based on the script is 62%, and the minimum achievement score is 61 %. 2) the class average score for the concept of the Indonesian Independence Preparation comprehension : the aspect for the explaining skill of the efforts for preparing the Indonesian Independence Day is 72 %, the aspect for identifying the Indonesian Independence preparator figures is 69%, the ability for exploring the respectful attitude toward the Indonesian Independence preparatory figures is 70%, the ability for acting the figures based on the script is 74%, and the minimum achievement score is 71 %.
Based on the the result of the research above it can be concluded, the implimintation of role playing method can improve understanding of the concept of ‘ The Indonesian Independence Preparation’ to the fifth grade students at SDN 01 Blorong, Jumantono, Karanganyar in academic 2009/2010.
