× ABSTRAK Nilai-nilai modernisasi dan globalisasi yang tidak sesuai dengan kepribadian bangsa, menimbulkan pelbagai fenomena demoralisasi, dehumanisasi dan depersonalisasi, yang memudarkan identitas kolektif generasi muda. Perlu penumbuhan identitas kolektif berbasis nilai-nilai pendidikan yang bersumber dari sejarah lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan secara rinci dan mendalam mengenai partisipasi, persepsi dan klarifikasi nilai pendidikan sejarah mahasiswa Pendidikan Sejarah Universitas Negeri Malang dari Festival Malang Tempo Doeloe. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus tunggal terpancang digunakan untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumen, Sumber data penelitian adalah tempat dan peristiwa penyelenggaraan festival, panitia festival, mahasiswa Pendidikan Sejarah sebagai partisipan festival, dokumen, foto dan buku terkait festival. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi dan studi dokumen. Teknik cuplikan purposive dan snowballsampling digunakan untuk menjaring informan terpilih. Data-data divalidasi melalui teknik trianggulasi sumber. Analisis penelitian dilakukan secara induktif, menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif. Simpulan penelitian ini meliputi beberapa hal. Latar belakang penyelenggaraan Festival Malang Tempo Doeloe adalah rendahnya apresiasi generasi muda terhadap sejarah dan budaya Malang. Festival bertujuan menyebarluaskan kepemilikan memori kolektif sejarah Malang agar tumbuh kepedulian terhadap masa depan kotanya. Mahasiswa Pendidikan Sejarah berpartisipasi secara individual/kelompok dalam bentuk pengamatan dan penilaian festival, lepas dari ikatan primordial. Lewat partisipasinya diperoleh memori kolektif, dan konstruksi persepsi. Persepsi mahasiswa Pendidikan Sejarah terhadap sejarah lokal Malang dalam festival pada umumnya konstruktif, tetapi festival dipersepsi kan sebagai wadah pendidikan, dan wadah kegiatan ekonomi-komersial. Festival belum efektif menjalankan fungsi konsientisasi sejarah, karena lebih dominannya dimensi ekonomi dalam festival. Melalui klarifikasi nilai, mahasiswa Pendidikan Sejarah menemukan keragaman nilai pendidikan sejarah, meliputi nilai-nilai yang termasuk dalam kategori nilai kebangsaan, kemanusiaan dan sosial, teknologi dan ekonomi. Nilai pendidikan sejarah yang dipilih menunjukkan keseimbangan dari kategori nilai yang ditemukan itu. Sebagian besar belum mempribadikan nilai, meskipun senang terhadap nilai yang dipilih Nilai pendidikan sejarah yang ditemukan itu mencerminkan kepemilikan identitas kolektif berbasis sejarah lokal Malang. ABSTRACT The negative values of modernization and globalization cause demoralization, dehumanization, and depersonalization that make the collective identity of young generation fade away. It is important to make the collective identity based on education values whose source is from the local history grow. This study aims at giving a deep description about the participation, perception and value clarification of the students of History education of State University of Malang dealing with the festival Malang Tempo Doeloe. The descriptive-qualitative approach and case study is applied in this study to fulfill the objective of study. A deep interview technique, participation observation, and documentation study are used to collect the data of research variables, and the sources of data come from the committee of Malang Tempoe Doeloe, the students of History Education who participate in this study, all the events in the festival, the document files which are related to the festival, and the photos of festival. The purposive technique and snowball sampling are used to select the informants. The data which have been validated through the method of triangulation and sources are analyzed using the technique of interactive analysis. This study results in some findings. The background of the festival of Malang Tempoe Doeloe is the minor appreciation of Malangnese youth in their city’s history and culture. This festival aims at making the ownership of collective memory of Malang history widespread; thus, the attention on the future of city can grow. The students in this study participated either individually or in a group without regarding a primordial bound since this participation is considered more autonomously and free from the responsibility of managing the festival. This festival results in collective memory and a constructed perception. The perception of students about the local history of Malang which is exhibited in the festival is generally constructive, but the perception about this festival is that it does not only serves as the education medium changes but also the commercial-economic activity. This festival is not yet effective for fulfilling the function of consientization since the economy dimension is dominant in the festival. By value clarification, the students of history education found the diversity of values of history education which involves the values that are classified into national, humanity, social, technology, and economy value. The value choice of history education by the students shows the balance of invented value categories. Most of the students have not applied the values individually although they feel happy with their chosen value. In addition, this chosen value reflects the ownership of collective identity based on the history and culture of Malang.
