Kajian intertekstual dan nilai pendidikan antara Novel Memoirs Of A Geisha karya Arthur Golden dengan Novel Kembang Jepun karya Remy Sylado

×ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan: (1) struktur novel Memoirs of A
Geisha dan Kembang Jepun; (2) unsur-unsur struktur novel Memoirs of A Geisha dan
Kembang Jepun; (3) persamaan dan perbedaan unsure-unsur struktur novel Memoirs
of A Geisha dengan Kembang Jepun dengan pendekatan intertekstualitas; dan (4)
nilai pendidikan yang terkandung di dalam kedua novel tersebut.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Metode ini
digunakan untuk menggali sumber informasi dan data yang berupa teks-teks sastra
sehingga data yang tampil bukan berupa konsep -konsep secara statistik. Teknik
pengumpulan data yang digunakan: (1) teknik interaktif dan mencatat dokumen
dengan content analisis; (2) baca catat; (3) teknik riset pustaka. Data yang sudah
terkumpul dianalysis dengan model analisis interaktif tiga alur kegiatan: (1) reduksi
data; (2) penyajian data, dan (3) peran kesimpulan atau verifikasi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua novel tersebut (1) mempunyai
persamaan struktur naratif sehingga novel Memoirs of A Geisha sebagai hipogram,
sedangkan novel Kembang Jepun sebagai teks tranformasi; (2) unsur-unsur struktur
kedua novel tersebut berupa amanat, tema, alur, perwatakan, penokohan, setting, dan
point of view secara struktural mempunyai persamaan dan perbedaan; (3) kedua novel
tersebut mempunyai persamaan tema yaitu hidup penuh perjuangan, dan cinta penuh
pengorbanan, sedangkan persamaan amanat pada kedua novel tersebut adalah untuk
mencapai kebahagiaan manusia harus bekerja keras. Alur kedua novel secara umum
menggunakan alur maju, karakterisasi tokoh, kedua novel menggunakan metode
analitik dan dramatik penokohan kedua novel terdiri dari tokoh utama dan tokoh
bawahan, latar (setting) cerita adalah Kyoto, Yokoido, dan Amerika untuk novel
Memoirs of A Geisha, sedangkan setting novel Kembang Jepun adalah Surabaya,
Blitar, Minahasa, dan Jepang; sudut pandang atau point of view kedua novel
menggunakan sudut pandang persona pertama atau gaya aku; (4) nilai pendidikan
yang terkandung di dalam kedua novel tersebut adalah nilai pendidikan moral dan
nilai pendidikan budaya.
ABSTRACT
This research aims to describe: 1) the narrative structure of the novel Memoirs
of A Geisha and the novel Kembang Jepun, 2) the structural elements of the novel
Memoirs of A Geisha and the novel Kembang Jepun, 3) the similarities and the
differences between the structural elements of the two mentioned novels, and
4) education values containing in the two novels.
The qualitative descriptive method was applied in this research. This method,
then was used to explore the source of information and data which were presented in
the form of literary texts; therefore, the data appear in this research are in the form
concepts or categories which can not be statistically counted. The techniques of data
collecting applied in this research were: 1) interactive technique and record
technique by using content analysis,2) record technique, 3) library research
technique. The data which had been collected, then were analyzed using three
categories of interactive analysis : 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3 )
conclusion or verification.
The result of the study showed that 1) the two novels had the similiarities in
the term of narrative structure; therefore, the novel Memoirs of A Geisha functioned
as a hypogram, while the novel Kembang Jepun functioned as a transformational text;
2)The two novels had both similarities and differences in term of moral teaching,
theme, plot, character, characterization, setting, and point of view, 3) The two novels
had similar themes: life is full of struggles, and love needs sacrifice. And the moral
teachings of the two novels were similar : one has to strive to pursue happiness. Both
the two novels used the progressive plot. The two novels used analytic and dramatic
method in presenting the characterization. There were two kinds of characters in the
two mentioned novels: major and minor characters. The settings of the novel
Memoirs of A Geisha are: Kyoto, Yokoido, and America. The settings of the novel
Kembang Jepun are: Surabaya, Blitar, Minahasa, and Japan. The Point of view of the
two novels was the first-person point of view. 4) Both the novels had moral teaching
and cultural values education.
