Pengaruh penggunaan pendekatan konstruktivisme melalui metode eksperimen dan demonstrasi terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran fisika ditinjau dari keaktifan siswa SMP

× ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui: (1) Pengaruh antara penggunaan pendekatan Konstruktivisme melalui metode eksperimen dan demonstrasi dalam pembelajaran Fisika terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa, (2) Pengaruh antara keaktifan siswa kategori tinggi, dan rendah terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa, (3) interaksi antara pengaruh penggunaan pendekatan Konstruktivisme melalui metode pembelajaran dengan keaktifan siswa terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa. Peneliti menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII C, VIIID, VIII E, VIII F Semester II SMP Negeri 10 Surakarta Tahun Ajaran 2008/2009. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Sampel yang diambil terdiri dari dua kelas yakni kelas VIII D berjumlah 40 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas VIII F berjumlah 40 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik dokumentasi, angket dan tes. Teknik dokumentasi digunakan untuk memperoleh data keadaan awal siswa yang diambil dari nilai rapor mata pelajaran Fisika Semester II. Teknik angket digunakan untuk mengukur keaktifan siswa terhadap mata pelajaran Fisika. Teknik tes digunakan untuk memperoleh data kemampuan kemampuan kognitif Fisika siswa pada pokok bahasan Tekanan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan ANAVA dua jalan dengan isi sel tak sama, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut ANAVA yaitu komparasi ganda metode Scheffe. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat: (1) Pengaruh antara penggunaan pendekatan Konstruktivisme melalui metode eksperimen dan demonstrasi dalam pembelajaran Fisika terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa, (2) Pengaruh antara keaktifan siswa kategori tinggi, dan rendah terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa, (3) interaksi antara pengaruh penggunaan pendekatan Konstruktivisme melalui metode pembelajaran dengan keaktifan siswa terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa. ABSTRACT The research of the purpose is: 1) the influence between the use the constructivism approach through the experimental and demonstrative methods in the Physics learning towards the student’s cognitive ability, 2) the influence between the enthusiasm of students of high and low levels towards the student’s cognitive ability, 3) the interaction of influence between the use of constructivism approach through leaning method correlated with the activity of students in the Physics learning to the student’s cognitive ability. The research used the experimental method with factorial design 2 x 2. The population of the research was the students of the VIIIC, VIIID, VIIIE, VIIIF classes in the 2nd semester of the year 2008/2009 of SMP Negeri 10 Surakarta. The Random sampling methode research have the sample. The sample was consisted of two classes; they were VIIID containing 40 students as the control class, and VIIIF containing 40 students as the experimental class. The collecting of data technique were documentation, questionnaire, and test techniques. The documentation technique was used to obtain the data of the first condition of the students taken from the score of achievement index of Physics in the 2nd semester. The questionnaire was used to measure the activity of students in the Physics subject. The test technique was used to get the data of cognitive ability of students in Physics focused on the pressure subject. The technique of data analysis used ANAVA with two tracks with the different contents of cells, then it continued with the advanced test of ANAVA; it was the double comparison of Scheffe method. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that: 1) There is a difference between the use of constructivism approach through experimental and demonstrative methods, 2) there is a difference of the influence between the activity of students of high and low levels towards the student’s cognitive ability in the Physics learning, 3) In the Physics learning, there is not any interaction between the use of the constructivism approach and the student’s activity towards the student’s cognitive ability.
