× Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendiskripsikan Model Pembelajaran Problem Solving sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan keaktifan dan prestasi belajar kelas VII B SMP Negeri 2 Jatiyoso Tahun Ajaran 2009/2010, dengan subyek siswa berjumlah 40 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) dengan menggunakan strategi siklus. Obyek penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah berbagai kegiatan yang terjadi di dalam kelas selama berlangsungnya proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan kolaborasi antara peneliti, guru kelas dan melibatkan partisipasi siswa. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini antara lain informan, tempat atau lokasi, peristiwa dan arsip. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, tes dan dokumentasi. Prosedur penelitian meliputi tahap: (1) identifikasi masalah, (2) persiapan, (3) penyusunan rencana tindakan, (4) implementasi tindakan, (5) pengamatan, (6) penyusunan laporan. Proses penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus masing-masing siklus terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu: (1) perencanaan tindakan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi dan interpretasi, (4) analisis dan refleksi. Setiap siklus dilaksanakan dalam tiga kali pertemuan dengan alokasi waktu masing-masing pertemuan 2 x 45 menit. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan keaktifan dan prestasi belajar IPS melalui penerapan model pembelajaran problem solving. Hal tersebut terrefleksi dari beberapa indikator sebagai berikut: (1) keaktifan siswa menunjukkan peningkatan dari 71% menjadi 74% ( siklus I), padasiklus II 85%. (2) Selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung siswa menunjukkan keaktifan mereka sebanyak 30 siswa pada siklus I sedangkan pada siklus II sebanyak 35 siswa, (3) Dalam ketelitian dan ketepatan menyelesaikan soal pada siklus I terdapat 28 siswa , pada siklus II terdapat 32 siswa. (4) adanya peningkatan pencapaian hasil belajar siswa dari 70% atau 28 siswa menjadi 80% atau 32 siswa. Peningkatan tersebut terjadi setelah guru melakukan beberapa upaya, antara lain: (1) Penerapan model pembelajaran problem solving, (2) Guru membuat rencana Pembelajara terlebih dahulu sebelum mengajar sehingga kegiatan belajar mengajar dapat berlangsung terarah dan terprogram, (4) Guru melakukan evaluasi setelah pelaksanaan pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar berikutnya. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran problem solving dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan prestasi belajar. ABSTRACT Haryanti. K7406087. APPLICATION OF PROBLEM SOLVING LEARNING MODELAS AN EFFORT IMPROVING LIVELINESS AND LEARNING LESSON ACHIEVEMENT OF VII B IN IPS SUBJECT FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2009/2010. Thesis. Surakarta. The purpose of this study was to describe the Learning Problem Solving Model as an effort to improve the activity and learning achievement of class VII B SMP Negeri 2 Jatiyoso in Academic Year 2009/2010, with the subject of students with total 40 students. This study uses a classroom action research approaches (action research classroom) using the cycle strategy. Object of research in this study are the various activities that occur in the classroom during the learning process. This research was conducted with the collaboration between researchers, classroom teachers and involving the participation of students. Sources of data used in the study of this class action, among others, the informant, place or location, events and archives. Data collection technique used observation, interviews, tests and documentation. Research procedure included three stages: (1) identification, (2) preparation, (3) preparation of action plans, (4) implementation of measures, (5) observed, (6) preparation of reports. The research process was conducted in two cycles each cycle consisting of three phases, namely: (1) planning action, (2) implementation of the action, (3) observation and interpretation, (4) analysis and reflection. Each cycle is carried out in three meetings with the allocation of time each 2 x 45-minute meeting. Based on research that has been done, it can be concluded that there was an increased activity of social studies learning and achievement through the application of problem solving learning model. It terrefleksi of some indicators as follows: (1) activeness of students showed an increase of 74% or 30 students to be 85% or 35 students. (2) During the learning process took place as many students showed their liveliness of 32 students in the first cycle of cycle II as many as 36 students, (3) In the precision and accuracy in solving the problem in the first cycle there were 33 students, on the second cycle there are 35 students. (4) an increase in student learning achievement of 70% or 28 students to 80% or 32 students. The increase occurred after the teacher made several attempts, among other things: (1) The application of problem solving learning model, (2) Teachers make a plan first before teaching of learning so that teaching and learning activities may take place directed and programmed, (4) Teachers conduct evaluation after implementation learning to improve learning prestasii next. Thus it can be concluded that with the application of problem solving learning model can improve the activity and academic achievement.
