Abstrak : This research focuses on the translation analysis of address terms in the novel Power-Crazy Ms Wiz. The objectives of this study are to analyze the types of translation variation of address terms, the translation techniques applied by the translator to translate address terms, and the translation quality in terms of accuracy and acceptability. This research belongs to descriptive qualitative research. This research is designed as single embedded-case study. To collect the data, purposive sampling is applied. The data are obtained by using content analysis and questionnaire. In content analysis, the researcher collected data by selecting dialogues in the novel which contain address terms. There are 130 address terms in this research. The questionnaire used is a close and open-ended one. The questionnaire is distributed to three translation experts. The result findings show that the types of translation variation of address terms in the novel Power-Crazy Ms Wiz arepronoun (70 address terms or 53.85%), kinship (9 address terms or 6.92%), names (31 address terms or 23.85%), and titles (20 address terms or 15.38%). The translation techniques applied in the novel Power-Crazy Ms Wiz are literal translation (99 address terms or 76.15%), borrowing (20 address terms or 15.38%), omission (6 address terms or 4.61%), transposition (4 address terms or 3.08%), and adaptation (1 address term or 0.78%). Dealing with the accuracy of the translation, the result is as follows: The translation that is accurate (88.46%), less accurate (11.54%), and there is no inaccurate translation. Dealing with the acceptability, the result is as follows: acceptable (61.54%), less acceptable (23.08%), and unacceptable (15.38%). The researcher recommends that novel translators should know the real context of the situation of the novel and consider what translation techniques should be applied in order to get an accurate and acceptable translation. It is recommended that the students of English Department make an observation when reading a translated novel to increase knowledge about novel translation in order to know whether the translation is accurate and acceptable or not.
