An Analysis On The Expression Of Anger Employed By The Characters In The Film Entitled Crash

× The research was conducted to describe the form of expression of anger used by the characters in the film entitled CRASH, to describe how the characters in the film used the expression of anger and to find out the reason of the use of the expression of anger in the film. It is descriptive qualitative research in socio-pragmatics approach. The source of the data is a film entitled CRASH. The data are the conversations containing the expression of anger employed by characters in the film. The researcher used total sampling technique in taking the data.The results of the research are as follows: First, there are two kinds of form of anger used by the characters in the film entitled CRASH: Direct (declarative, interrogative, imperative) form and Indirect (declarative, interrogative, imperative) form. The differences form of the expression of anger is influenced by the relationship between the participants and the situation in the conversation. The expressions of anger are not always produced in high tone of voice. Some of them are also in low and usual tone of voice. Most of the delivered of the expressions of anger in the film are in informal situation. Second, the use of anger expression employed by the characters in the film entitled CRASH is related to the tone of voice. The speaker used direct form in declarative, interrogative and imperative in high tone of voice. The speaker used indirect form in declarative in increase tone of voice. The speaker used indirect form in interrogative and imperative in low tone or usual tone of voice. Third, there are thirteen reasons that influence the use of the expression of anger in the film. They are insult, contradiction, disappointment, social power, annoyance, intimacy, ignorance, seriousness, jealousy, resentful, relationship, politeness and fear. Each form the expression of anger has its own reason of use anger in the film.
